Choosing an Entrance Door

As a joinery company we specialise in hardwood entrance doors.
there are many features to consider when choosing the design, and specification of your new door.
The type of wood :- for a natural look and finish you want a variety with an attractive grain, if you're after a wooden door painted then going for the strongest variety will be important, we can advise you on this and have a selection of photos to show of the choices.

Door Furniture :- locks, hinges, letter Box, handles, peep hole, there are many things to consider here, available in chrome, bronze and other varieties this will play an important part in how the door looks and its security.

Glazing :- A door can be a very personal statement about the home the other side, the first thing your visitors see, some choose side light glazing or over the door glazing, you may choose to having  a glazing feature in the door itself or none at all. We have many years of experience in door design to match your house style and with photos of work examples you can be sure of your choice before getting your door made.

Insulation :- An obvious point that can be overlooked, this is an important aspect of external entrance doors, all our doors do include insulation to a high specification although we can offer higher levels of door insulation in the door manufacturer when we make your quote on request.

Security :- Entrance doors should have high quality locks and hinges to provide protection from break in attempts. Its also important to consider having a steel inserted into the door, this would strengthen the door, although doors can be made very strong within a hardwood design, having an internal steel support or structure to the door will make it that extra secure providing peace of mind, that you're protected when you need it most.
